One of the funniest stories I can convey about being with Baba was a group of devotees started spontaneously doing a Sufi circle dance in the middle of the courtyard at the temple in Kainchi.
They were whirling and screaming out Sufi stuff about God knows what, spinning back and forth in a circle. Probably there was some Allah talk.
Maharajji came out of his office and started screaming at them to stop immediately. Needless to say that was the beginning and end of Sufi dancing at the temple.
The people who organized it, (they shall remain nameless) faded into the background, then everything was as right as rain.
I had not thought of Babaji for many years. Back in the late 60's early 70's I was incredibly drawn to him but could not go to India. I spoke to him often in my head.
I was working as a lecturer in Govt. Training College, Allahabad since Jan 1946. Mrs. E.B. Joshi was the principal of the college that time. She was very well known throughout the State on account of her deep knowledge and wisdom. Later on she was selected in Indian Administrative Services and joined her new post in 1952.
I visited his ashrams for a couple of years after Babaji took his samadhi.
